Manav Mody - Sowing Smiles and Co-creating a Harmonious tomorrow
Manav Mody of Grade 9C secured the 2nd runner up position in the Youth Leader 2016 competition which is an intiative by The Global Education and Leadership Foundation (tGELF) in Delhi. The vision for The Global Education and Leadership Foundation (tGELF) is to build a community of ethical leaders who will work together to improve the state of our world. Several projects were submitted and the result was drawn out from 12 finalists who hailed from schools in countries like Bhutan, Bangladesh as well as India. Manav has been associated with Shrimad Rajchandra Divine Touch(SRD) which is an NGO that works in rural areas for the underprivilegded. The project titled Sowing Smiles took upon the challenge of fighting malnutrition in nearby areas of Karanjveri district in Gujarat by providing saplings and creating awareness through unique ways. The project reached approximately 200 people in the area. Manav worked on the project along the Diwali and Summer break and did visit his area of work several times as well.
