Aarnav Gogri of IBDP 12 publishes math research in OEIS

Aarnav Gogri of IBDP Grade 12 published a mathematics research paper on hexagonal tiling sequences under the guidance of Mr Gregory Dresden (Ph.D. Professor of Mathematics at Washington and Lee University). Aarnav’s research got accepted and his two new integer sequences were published in the Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences (OEIS).

The OEIS records information on integer sequences of interest to both professional and amateur mathematicians and is widely cited in mathematical research. As of January 2022, it contains over 350,000 sequences, making it the largest database of its kind. Every day mathematicians around the world send in new sequences, which are then approved or rejected for inclusion by a team of 20 editors-in-chief and 100 associate editors. It is also a badge of honor to get a sequence accepted, especially for a high school student.
