Isha Kanodia initiates the 'StaySafePowai' Programme

Isha Kanodia efforts towards helping her local community during the lockdown has got a significant positive response from Powai residents. As a result, she has been featured in two widely read local publications.

She created a web platform www.staysafepowai.info that helps the local community of Powai to find their essentials (Groceries, Fruits / Veg, Milk, Doctors and Pharmacists, Home Delivered Cooked meals, services for the elderly, ) under one roof in a simple tabular format, during the lockdown period. It also provides a means for the shops and service providers to get themselves listed. She continuously keeps upgrading it on a daily basis and is encouraged by the overwhelming response received from local residents on Facebook and other social networks. She launched the site on 31st March and it has already seen over 12,000 unique users accessing it over 20,000 times (Source: Google Analytics). This makes it over 15% of the target population of 75,000 households in central Powai. 'The Watchdog News' has covered her work and has interviewed her under its ‘Heroes of Corona’ campaign. She is grateful to the school for inspiring students to make a difference in society.
