IBDP Global Politics students engage in a “Technology and Geopolitics” session
IBDP Global Politics students engaged with an extremely informative and inspirational session on “Technology and Geopolitics” with Mr. Arindrajit Basu. Time flew as he shared his deep academic knowledge of emerging technologies on governance of cyberspace and his rich experiences as a specialist Consultant on technology geopolitics with Ikigai Law. Mr. Basu held the students enthralled with history of the internet and its impact on sovereignty, concept of weaponized interdependence, with well-developed case studies on US China Tech War, India’s Cyber Diplomacy and Cybersecurity at the United Nations. Academic aspirations, future career goals and opening of new vistas were the highlights for students!”
The students had insightful reflections post the session and these display amply the rich dimensions of experiential learning in subjects.

For instance, he explained the concept of weaponized interdependence, which I found to be a novel and intriguing perspective and is something I would like to look into further.”
