DAIS IBDP YEAR 12 STUDENT VEER MEHTA SELECTED TO PRESENT RESEARCH AT PRESTIGIOUS AMERICAN GEOPHYSICAL UNION (AGU) 2024

Veer Mehta, an IBDP Year 12 student at DAIS, has been selected to present his research paper, "XG-Boosting Model for the Detection of Algal Blooms using Sentinel 2-A Satellite Data," at the esteemed American Geophysical Union (AGU) 2024 Annual Meeting. This prestigious event, the largest gathering of Earth and space scientists globally, will be held in Washington D.C. from December 9th to 13th, 2024.

The AGU Annual Meeting convenes over 25,000 attendees from more than 100 countries, providing a platform for sharing cutting-edge research and fostering connections among scientists, educators, policymakers, and communicators. Veer's selection to present his work at this global forum is a significant honour, highlighting his exceptional research capabilities and dedication to environmental science.

This marks Veer's second appearance on an international stage. Last year, he presented his research on real-time detection of water pollution at the World Ocean Science Congress held at IIT Madras, demonstrating his consistent commitment to addressing critical environmental issues.
