Celebrating Freedom, Inspiring Minds
DAIS celebrated the 77th year of our nation’s independence with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor. The event was organized to pay homage to those who lost their lives in the struggle for independence and to instill a sense of national pride among the students.
The celebration commenced with the solemn flag-hoisting ceremony. The Indian tricolour was unfurled by our Head of Administration, Mr. Yassir Choonawalla, accompanied by the national anthem, filling the atmosphere with a feeling of unity and pride. Mr. Choonawalla, our Head Girl and Head Boy addressed the assembled students, faculty, staff and alumni, with heartfelt speeches about the significance of the day, emphasizing the values of unity and responsibility. Their speeches resonated that although India has achieved so much in all fields, our age-old customs and issues pull us backward. Their words inspired the students to contribute positively to the nation.
Students expressed the concept of freedom and unity in different languages and in a variety of creative ways, making oral presentations, videos, collages, and some interesting art and craft activities, all in the virtual space.
The day’s celebrations were further elevated by an Inter-house Dramatics Competition. Everyone witnessed the talents and creativity of our young actors, as they performed on the theme revolving around patriotism and the challenges faced by modern India.
Another unique touch to the celebration was the heartwarming performance by the school security personnel. They beautifully choreographed a dance that depicted unity and harmony in our secular India. The thunderous applause received by all the performances was proof of the values that our nation stands for and what we strive to inspire in our learners.
