Report on NSTSE
The National Level Science Talent Search Examination is a prestigious examination organized by the Unified Council. Unlike regular tests, NSTSE has interesting questions that require thinking, not simply recall, and provides detailed skill-wise feedback highlighting strengths and weaknesses as well as a benchmark of the student's performance with peers all over the country. Regular exams tend to be superficial, testing what children have memorized, rather than the understanding of concepts and knowledge gained. The important skills like the ability to think independently and reason logically - critical in today's world - are emphasized in this test.
It tests the students in five key areas through application-based questions. It contains 100 multiple choice questions, from Mathematics (25), Physics (25), Chemistry (20), Biology (20) and General Knowledge (10), to be answered in 90 minutes.
The first level test was conducted on 4th December 2015 in the school itself, in which 8 students from class 10 appeared.
Chitvan Bansal was selected for the second level of the examination, which was held on 30th January 2016. Chitvan has been declared the City Topper in her class from Mumbai.
