'Postcard' from RBIS International School, Bangkok

On the 5th of February 2025, six students from MYP Grade 6 attended the Round Square Postcard - 'Creative Chaos: How hobbies and passions shape who we are’, hosted by RBIS International School, Bangkok. The theme of the postcard highlighted how hobbies and passions play a key role in shaping one’s personality. Around 100 delegates from 16 schools across 4 countries India, UAE, Pakistan and Thailand.

The pre-task made the delegates reflect on their own hobbies. They crafted their pre-task with deep insight, incorporating their passions that had shaped them into the people they were today.

The postcard opened with a brief interaction with the event's guest speaker, Mr. Sarfaraz Ali, a photographer who turned his passion into a successful professional career. It emphasized the importance of hobbies as a productive way to engage in activities one enjoys, enrich life, and potentially pursue further. The delegates on the call asked numerous questions, gaining a clearer and deeper understanding of the concepts being shared. The hosts of the postcard encouraged the participant delegates to share their hobbies and passions with the other participants.

The Round Square Postcard, hosted by RBIS School in Thailand, was a memorable and enriching experience for the participating delegates. It offered a chance to engage in interactive activities, share ideas, and enhance communication skills in a fun setting.

A standout moment was playing Kahoot, which added an element of enjoyment and healthy competition, making the session vibrant and engaging.

Another key insight was the sharing of hobbies, where one participant discussed a personal hobby and how it helped develop skills such as discipline, focus, and teamwork. Hearing about the diverse hobbies of other attendees highlighted a wide range of interests and talents. Overall, the Postcard proved to be a valuable experience that fostered learning from various perspectives, self-expression, and participation in enjoyable activities. It reinforced the importance of communication, collaboration, and personal growth, making it a memorable and rewarding opportunity for everyone involved.
