'Postcard' from St. John’s Ravenscourt School
On the 9th of June, 2021, five DAIS students, Devika Kothari, Dhruv Bhalla, Sriya Bodapati, Vihaan Mangat and Vivaan Turakhia, accompanied by Ms. Rachana Shah, attended a Round Square Virtual Postcard themed ‘Mental Health and Happiness’ hosted by the St John’s-Ravenscourt School, Canada. Through engaging presentations and discussions about the work of renowned psychologists within the first of happiness and mental health, delegates reflected on how kind acts of service are actually beneficial for one’s own wellbeing.
They were able to personally connect with this topic as well, reflecting on their own feelings upon the completion of their pre-event task - performing an act of kindness themselves. In insightful and interactive baraza groups, students got a chance to share their perspectives and hear those of their peers around the world; destigmatizing mental health in society, encouraging more dialogue about it and the magnitude of impact one good deed can have were among the topics discussed. For all delegates, this experience was an amazing opportunity for introspection, truly enriching, and unforgettable!
