Exceptional Achievement in Chess Honoured - Dev Shah

Dev Shah of Class IV B was felicitated with the THE NATIONAL CHILD AWARD FOR EXCEPTIONAL ACHIEVEMENT on 14th November, 2016, by our PRESIDENT Shri PRANAB MUKHERJEE at the RASHTRIYAPATI BHAVAN in NEW DELHI.

It is a great honour for DEV to be recognised by the nation and the Child and Welfare Ministry. He was the youngest amongst all the 31 awardees.

The National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement was instituted in 1996 and is awarded by Department of Women and Child Development, Government of India, to children between the age of 4 to 15 years, with exceptional abilities.

It is one of the three National Presidential Awards for the children of the state. The selection for this award is made by the National Selection Committee.

Dev has won State, National and International medals, but this award recognises his talent and his hard work and is the ultimate and most coveted one and is his biggest feat yet.

We at DAIS are extremely proud of Dev and wish him many more successes in the future.
