Geography Trip to Goa

Geography Trip to Goa

From 3rd March to 5th March, Geography students of IBD Year 11 travelled to Goa to collect data on land and sea interaction as part of their internal assessment. The students were able to apply the geographical skills they had learnt in class to the real world, collecting data on longshore drift, waves, the beach slope and the nature of sand.

This trip enabled them to draw connections between textbook knowledge and practical applications of geography and utilise instruments such as clinometers, swing-o-meters, ranging rods and anemometers with ease and proficiency. Overall, it was an enriching learning experience in collaborative work, inquiry-based learning, team spirit, time management, and field work improvisation. Reflection at the end of the day was a mandatory exercise. The experience was enriching and will remain with them as they continue to explore the geography world.
