Grade 6 IDU- Let's turn up the energy

Education in an ever-changing world empowers learners to creatively connect different areas of knowledge across disciplines. As Grade 6 students explored the IDU unit - 'Let's turn up the energy', they explored the relationship between health and well-being. Learners dived into deep learning, integrating their understanding from PHE, Mathematics and Science with innovative perspectives. Their aim was to solve real-world challenges faced by teenagers and to improve physical health with a focus on fitness. The engagements through the IDU unit, allowed learners to make informed decisions about exercise, the need for a balanced lifestyle and its impact on the body systems. Learners analysed the data gathered through exercising and skipping. They used graphical representation to interpret, communicate and act. They are designing an E-magazine that will demonstrate the connection between health and well-being. It will encourage readers to making better choices based on data.
