Health and Wellness Day!
(Conceptual and Trans-disciplinary Learning)
As part of their EVS curriculum, Class 2A and 2B embarked on the exploration of health and wellness, by designing and participating in various activities to learn the concept. Students spent time dissecting and demonstrated their understanding of health and wellness through experiential learning or real life experiences.
As part of the experiential learning process, students were placed into student-led groups, which offered them the opportunity to lead and explore ways in which they can express their ideas and actively participate in an environment of health and wellness. The event was open to the Kindergarten and Class one students.
The categories included:
- Aromatherapy Massage
- Yoga and Meditation
- Healthy Eating
- Exercise and Sports
Conceptual and sustainable learning was supported and enriched by all subject areas. The trans-disciplinary themes such as Cleanliness, Health and Wellness inspired students to embrace multiple perspectives throughout the learning process. Teachers of all specialties and subject areas, became facilitators and offered support and advice to students, when needed. The DAIS community of life-long learners marched on the road to Good Health from this day.
