IBDP G 11 Keyaan Shah among the Top 20 Finalist at Commonwealth Youth Awards for Excellence in Development Work 2025.
Keyaan Shah of IBDP Grade 11 has been awarded the coveted position of Top 20 Finalist at the prestigious Commonwealth Youth Awards for Excellence in Development Work 2025. These awards recognize exceptional young leaders (aged 15–29) driving innovation and solutions for a future built on fairness, peace, prosperity, and sustainability, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
From hundreds of applications across 54 Commonwealth nations, only 20 outstanding young leaders have been selected as Finalists (four from each of the five Commonwealth regions - Africa, Asia, the Americas, Europe, and the Pacific). Keyaan has emerged as one of the top 4 in Asia, an extraordinary feat that highlights his commitment to empowering persons with disabilities, particularly from underserved communities, through his AbiliTec initiative aligned with UN-SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities.
AbiliTec empowers people with disabilities, particularly in underserved communities, through projects like SignKraft (for the hearing-impaired), SightKraft (for the visually impaired), and SpeechKraft & Chirpies (for individuals with autism), all aligned with UN-SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities.

As a Finalist, Keyaan will receive:
- 🏆 £1,000 grant to further his development work
- 🏆 A trophy and certificate from the Secretary-General of the Commonwealth
- 🏆 Recognition at the award ceremony in London on 12th March 2025 during Commonwealth Week
