The IRIS National Science Fair 2014


The IRIS (Initiation for Research and Innovation in Science) National Science Fair 2014 was held at Ahmedabad Science City from 4th to 7th December 2014.

 

Our students Anushka Basu and Sakshi Hinduja of class 7B, and Abhimanyu Pallavi Sudhir of class 9B were selected as finalists, out of more than 10,000 great ideas received for the 2014 National Fair.

 

Abhimanyu Sudhir won three awards:

i) The "most innovative project"
ii) Special award by Amul
iii) IRIS Grand Award (gold medal)

 

 

Abhimanyu stands a chance to participate at Intel- ISEF 2015.

 

His project on "A generalization of the determinant to rectangular matrices: implications in gauge theory" was presented under mathematical sciences.

 

Anushka and Sakshi won the IRIS Outstanding Award (silver medal) for their project work titled "Generating electricity biochemically by anaerobic breakdown of Mithi river sludge" under Microbiology.

 

 

IRIS national fair is heralded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).
