Create for a Cause

At Create for a Cause, while deliberating the multitude of organizations around the world working towards the same causes, an idea struck us. We realized that the best way to help these NGOs prosper is to help them spread their message. Due to our common passion for videography, we decided to focus on making videos to spread awareness about social service organizations. We chose to work with the CAS Projects within our school to document their activities and make informative videos that would benefit their cause. The filmmaking process consisted of hours of planning, shooting and editing. We formed detailed spreadsheets with information about the cast, location and equipment. We formed a group of dedicated creators and made several interesting videos that we would share on social media platforms, such as YouTube and Instagram. While working with English Vinglish, a student-led initiative teaching English to the school bus attendants, I took videos that reflected the efforts of the students. Working with multiple groups and discussing ideas with other group members honed our collaborative skills and allowed us to become more open-minded.
