Maharashtra Nature Park

“Green Heaven at Dharavi, amidst the concrete city Mumbai, ‘Mahim Nature Park’, Which is also called ‘Maharashtra Nature Park’ (MNP), Developed by MMRDA (Government Organization) with an helping hand NGO called ‘World Wildlife Fund’ (WWF) along with an Ornithologist Naturalist ‘Salim Ali’ Inaugurated on 22nd april 1994 (Earth Day).

 

DAIS students opted to help with the tree plantation and other service activities in the park and they visited the park every Friday for 2hours and helped the staff . Besides doing practical work they also attended lectures by experts on tree conservation and environmental awareness. The students also raised some funds by setting up a stall in the annual Fete, distributed sapling as a reward for winning the games offrered in the stalls.
