Middle School English Elocution Competition 2016-17
Excitement hung in the air. Everyone waited eagerly for the inter-house elocution competition to begin. The auditorium was packed, and the judges came in. At last, there was no more waiting; the much-awaited elocution competition was about to begin.
The names of the Judges were announced and a large round of applause was in order. The first round, consisting of eight participants from classes 5 and 6 began. The participants performed exceptionally well. The poems were recited beautifully and no one could have been more fluent and in character, than the participants on stage. The poems varied drastically, but each one of them painted a picture in our minds so realistic, that it felt like you had been transported to another world altogether. Soon after the first round had ended, the next round for classes 7 and 8 commenced and in this round too the participants performed phenomenally well.
Once that was done the judges came up on stage and gave the participants a few pieces of crucial advice. Then came the time when the results were announced. The room was filled with pin-drop silence, as everyone waited with baited breath for the results to be announced. They went as follows:
- IN GROUP ONE,
- FIRST PLACE WENT TO, KAIRA SHETH OF THE PANTHER HOUSE.
- SECOND PLACE TO SIMRAN KAUR AHLUWALIA OF THE LION HOUSE
