Myeishaa Chhablani's essay wins Pen to Paper Writing Contest
Myeishaa Chhablani of IBDP Grade 11 won the Pen to Paper writing Contest conducted by the 'Free Press Journal'. This contest started two years ago aiming to understand whether India's youth was reading well. Her essay was about an air crash of a Japanese flight in Tokyo, where all the passengers including the crew were safely evacuated. Her essay is about the importance of discipline and a calm mindset during an emergency and the power of gratitude- a force that enables us to be happy as we are still alive. Out of 2,000 entries, 20 winners were selected this year. She was also invited to attend a Boot Camp at FPJ's Office which was conducted by the children's author, Abhishek Talwar. He gave an insightful presentation on creative writing emphasizing on how to write using your 'inner voice'. This contest has also given her an opportunity to publish her writing in the Free Press Journal and participate in many upcoming writing workshops with the newspaper's editor Ms. Lajwanti D'Souza.
