Primary Inter House Indian and Western Music Competition 2019-2020

Music binds our soul, hearts and emotions. Music cheers the spirit and kindles hope. In fact through singing children learn to express their feelings and ideas. To bring out the singing talent of our students, the primary school organized the annual Inter House Music Competition, on 13th February, 2020.

 

The competition was divided into 2 genres-Indian and Western Music. Each genre was further divided into 2 groups, one comprising of Classes 1 and 2 and the other of Classes 3 and 4, with participants from each of the 4 houses. The auditions were conducted by the Music department faculty and the finalists were announced.

 

On D-Day, the children showcased a sense of pride, self-esteem and self-confidence as they pelted out one melodious number after another. The students sang the songs with a lot of passion, poise and talent. The songs included old melodies and contemporary songs, which tugged at the heartstrings of the audience. Each house showed their mastery over voice modulation, pitch, rhythm and tone. It was fascinating to witness all the four Houses put up quite a magnificent performance and each one was outstanding and kept the audience enthralled.

 

The event was hosted by our Primary Cub-Captains, as they introduced each participant and their song. The judges for the afternoon were some of our own faculty, who are passionate about music and are accomplished singers themselves. As the minutes ticked away, so did the points. The music teachers were seen beaming with pride as the young maestros, trained by them, crooned away confidently.

 

Before the winners were announced, some of our students played their preferred musical instruments, including the cello, tabla, tongue drum, wind chime and the cajun, making the event a huge success. The judges greatly appreciated the talent and the effort put in by the children and congratulated each participant for their performance. The music teachers highly deserved the praise and admiration bestowed upon them, for putting together a spectacular show of talent.
