In May 2012, His Royal Highness, Prince Andrew, The Duke of York visited DAIS as part of his visit to India to mark Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond jubilee at the throne and to strengthen the growing relationship between India and the UK. The Duke interacted with students of different age-groups and discussed with the senior students their higher education plans and experiences of participating in the various international youth programs like Round Square, MUN, international exchanges and adventure trips. In his address The Duke acknowledged the school’s emphasis on all-round development of children saying.

"there is much more to being a human being and understanding the human condition"

"It seems to me from what I have learnt and heard today, the school is well on its way to be able to deliver world class citizens, not just for India but for the whole globe"

Katie Bagli’s Visits the 4th Graders

On Wednesday 17th February 2016, Ms. Katie Bagli was invited to our school, as a resource person, to speak to the students of Std 4 A and 4 B. Ms. Bagli is a nature lover and an author, who enjoys writing about her passion-Nature and Wildlife. She spoke at length about her books and even read aloud a couple of stories from them. She shared with us many interesting facts about animals and birds. She is an encyclopedia on nature!

Ms. Bagli then showed us a power point presentation called ‘Spooky Animals’ and she told us how animals help to maintain the balance in nature, from the mighty elephant, to the ferocious tiger to the seemingly harmless little ant. The power point helped to clarify so many of our doubts and misconceptions. Finally, as a token to us kids, she gave us each an autographed copy of her latest book, ‘The Less Liked Lovables’. The personal message it carried was motivational and inspiring. We really enjoyed the talk, because we realized how fascinating and varied nature is!
