The inaugural Spelling Bee for Classes 1 and 2 was conducted on Friday 1st March 2024. It generated a lot of excitement and enthusiasm as this event marked the first participation of these young students in a spelling competition. The event aimed to foster linguistic skills, boost confidence, and cultivate a spirit of healthy competition among our stellar spellers.

 

After an initial elimination round, 16 participants made it to the final round of the competition. The eager young minds showcased their excitement and readiness to showcase their spelling abilities and take on the challenge.

 

The chosen words were tailored to cater to the developmental stage and vocabulary acquisition of the young participants. Each participant was given the opportunity to spell out loud and demonstrate their spelling prowess.

 

The supportive atmosphere, coupled with the encouragement from teachers and peers, boosted the confidence of the participants, who approached every round with determination and zeal.

 

The event was a success thanks to our DAIS Student Council who curated and conducted it. The Spelling Bee was a memorable and rewarding experience for everyone involved.

 

The tally of results was:

 

• 1st Place: Lion House- 81 points
• 2nd Place: Jaguar House-79 points
• 3rd Place: Tiger House- 72 points
• 4th Place: Panther House- 67 points
