Grit and Grace


At the Sensei N. T. and M. N. Bangera Memorial Judo Championship, DAIS won several medals in the under-14 years age category:

 

  • Ria Sanghavi of Class 7 B won a Silver medal.
  • Avan Mehta of Class 7 A won a Bronze medal in the below 46 kg weight class.
  • Ria Subramanian of Class 7 A won a Gold medal in the below 60 kg. weight class.
  • Agastya Naidu of Class 7 A won a Bronze medal in the under 50 kgs. Weight class.

 

Aishani Agarwal MSSA Bronze


Aishani Agarwal of Class 4A won a Bronze Medal in the under-10 age category, in the Judo Tournament organised by the Mumbai Schools Sports Association.



Renaya Lakhani Bronze Judo MSSA


Renaya Lakhani of Class 4A won the Bronze medal in the Under-12 age group in the Judo Tournament organised by the Mumbai Schools Sports Association Games.



Avan Mehta MSSA Judo Wins


Avan Mehta of Class 7A brings home a Bronze medal in the Under 14 years, 42kg weight category at the MSSA Judo competition.



Nitya Vashi MSSA Judo Wins


Nitya Vashi of Class 4 A won the Silver medal at the MSSA Judo Tournament in the under 10 years age and below 30 kg weight category.



Kavya Verma MSSA Judo Wins


Kavya Verma of Class 4 B won a Bronze medal in the Under10 years age and below 27 kg weight category at the MSSA Interschool Judo Tournament.



MSSA Judo Wins


Judoka Ariana Yoddha of Class 5 A won a Gold medal at the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) JUDO Tournament in the under-12 age category, in the 63 kg weight class.

 

 

Hitansh Bhatt of Class 7 B won a Silver medal in the under-14 age category, in the 66 kg. weight class.

 

 

Ria Subramanian of Class 7 A won a Silver medal in the under-14 age category, in the 60 kg. weight class.

 

 

Purnaansh Patel of Class 7 B won a Gold medal in the Under-14 Boys -38kg weight category. He fought all his bouts with great technique and made his school proud.

 

 

Anika Shah of class 5 B won a Bronze medal in the under-12 age category, in the -36 kg. weight class.

 

 

Ria Sanghavi of Class 6 B won a Silver medal in the under-12 age category, in the 52 kg. weight class.

 

 

Pramik Sharma of Class 9 A won a Silver medal in the under-16 age category, in the 55 kg. weight class.


MSSA Inter-school Judo Competition


Renaya Lakhani of Class 4A participated in the MSSA Inter-school JudoC Competition where she won a bronze medal in the girls Under 12 category.

 


Ria Sanghavi SFA gold


Ria Sanghavi of Class 6 B won a Gold medal in the Under-12 years category and below 55 kgs. weight class, at the Sports For All (SFA) Judo Championship.


VIVA Judo Competition


At the VIVA Judo Competition conducted by the Vibgyor School

 

  • Kavya Shah of Class 7 A won a Bronze medal in the Under 14 age and under 35 kilos weight category.
  •  

  • Ayanna Vazirani of Class 8 B won the Silver medal in the Under 16 age category in the open weight category.
  •  

 

 

  • Ariana Yoddha of Class 5 A won a Bronze medal in the Under 12 years and open weight category.
  •  

  • Anika Shah of Class 5B won the Bronze medal in the Under 12 age category.
  •  

  • Krrishiv Sharma of Class 4 B won a Bronze medal in the Under 12 age and below 40 kgs. weight category

 

 

  • Avan Mehta of Class 7 A won a Bronze medal in the Under 14 age and under 45 kilos weight category.
  •  

  • Ahana Shah of Class 8 B won the Bronze medal in the Under 16 age category.
  •  

  • Veda Krishnan of Class 5 A won a Silver medal in the U-12 and below 35 kg. category.

Ahana Shah of Class 8 B won a Gold Medal in the 5th ISSO Judo National Championship held at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School.


At the SGFI Judo National Games held in Jammu:

 

Tanishi Mazumder of Class 6 A qualified and participated in the under 40 kg category, where she won a few bouts including tough matches against the players from Jharkhand and Bihar. She lost the Bronze medal playoff against West Bengal.

 

Ria Subramanian Class 7 A participated in the under 14 years, open weight category, in which she played well, but lost against a strong contender from Haryana.

 

 

Avan Mehta of Class 7A lost the bout to a strong opponent from Madhya Pradesh.


Pramik Sharma Won Bronze


Pramik Sharma of Class 9 A won a Bronze medal in the Jigaro Kano Invitational Judo Championship 2023, in the under-16 years and below 50 kgs. weight category.



At the ISSO National Judo Tournament, the DAIS tally of medals was as under:


  • Ria Subramanian of Class 7 A won the Gold medal in the under-14 girls and +44 kgs. Category. Ria will compete in the School Games Federation of India National Tournament (SGFI).

  • Tanishi Mazunder of Class 6 A won the Gold medal in the under-14 girls and -40 kgs. Category. Tanishi will compete in the School Games Federation of India National Tournament (SGFI).

  • Purnaansh Patel of Class 7 B won the Silver medal in the under-14 boys and -35 kgs. Category.

  • Agastya Naidu of Class 7 A won the Gold medal in the under-14 boys and -50 kgs. Category.vAgastya will compete in the School Games Federation of India National Tournament (SGFI).

  • Ria Sanghavi of Class 6B won a Bronze medal in the under-14 girls and +44 kg open weight category. At 11 years, Ria was the youngest participant in her weight category.

  • Avan Mehta of Class 7A won the Gold medal in the under-14 years and below 40 kg. weight category

  • Aryahi Agarwal of Class 10 A won the Gold medal in the under-17 years and below 70 kgs. weight category.
    She will now participate in the SGFI National Judo Tournament.
  • Hitansh Bhatt of Class 7 B won the Silver medal in the Under-14 years and -65 kgs. category, at the 5th ISSO National Judo Tournament 2023.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Jigoro Kano Judo Championship


Ayana Vazirani of Class 8 B (Girls U-16), Ria Sanghavi of Class 6 B (Girls U-12) and Agastya Naidu of Class 7 A (Boys U-14) secured second place in the Prof. Jigoro Kano Invitational Mumbai Judo Championship.

Tanishi Mazumder of Class 6A (Girls U-12) and Nitya Vashi of Class 4A (Girls U-10) won the first place in the Prof. Jigoro Kano Invitational Mumbai Judo Championship. Keep it up!
