Students visit the University of Technology, Sydney
University of Technology, Sydney organized an interschool IT competition among schools of India on 14th March 2016. Three of our 10th std IGCSE Computer science students Navya Mehta, Nakul Goenka and Ahan Sahu submitted a project known as “Calcu-Vator” and emerged as a winner of this competition. As a part of the prize of the 2015 UTS IT competition run in India, they were invited along with their teacher to visit UTS from 17th -22nd July 2016. On 17th July these three students along with their Computer science teacher, Nilendu Deb, reached Sydney for this visit. During this visit the group had opportunity to meet the Director, the Dean, Faculty and current students of the University. Students of DAIS received accolades from UTS community for their great achievement. Also a guided tour was organized to visit various departments, IT labs, Science super labs, Collaborative virtual space (Innospace) and housing system. UTS also organized local sightseeing for this group during their stay at Sydney. Part of sightseeing the group visited Darling Harbour attractions, Circular quay, Opera House, Sydney tower and Bondi beach. It was a wonderful experience for the group.
