Nature Club
The Nature Club aims at inculcating an appreciation of nature among students and encouraging them to participate in a variety of conservation initiatives. Its efforts include inviting leading environmentalists to the school to talk to students and sensitize them to the opportunities and challenges in addressing environmental issues, organizing an annual tree-planting day, and participating in important nature-oriented programmes. Students also work on recycling waste and reduction of consumption on campus by recycling paper and providing support to the rag-pickers of Mumbai.

The balance waste paper was recycled by giving it to FORCE, an NGO that recycles papers and uses the funds to fund the health care and education of rag pickers and their families..
Every Day is Earth Day
Every year during the Earth day the school initiates sustainable activities that educate the students on to reduce environmental damages and empower them to help conserve nature.
Educational Programs:
Educational Programs are conducted to make children aware of the ways in which they can help the environment. They plant trees, recycle paper and plastic to produce utility items eg: pen holders, Jewelry boxes, paper bags etc.
Nature Art
Nature Art enables children to become aware of the variety of things available in their natural surroundings and how to use them without further damaging the environment.
Eco-friendly campus
The school works towards making the school campus an eco-friendly place. There are bins to segregate garbage, ‘Bio Degradable and ‘Recyclable Material Bin’. The bio degradable material is safely disposed off while the recyclable material is again handed over to FORCE for further processing.
The students have set up a ‘Vermiculture Pit’ for vermin composting. Now the bio degradable material will be used to feed the pit. The manure thus produced will be used in the school gardens.
Electricity audit of the school:
One DAIS student has conducted an electricity audit of the school as part of his research and has submitted his report and findings to the school. The school is looking at implementing feasible recommendations, which it is believed that would result in substantial savings of electricity by the school.
Tree plantation and clean-up of Pay Master Park
Pay Master Park is a public park situated in Matheran. It was in very poor condition with over-grown weeds, shoddy flower beds etc. DAIS students helped to clean up the park, clear the weeds, arrange and painted the boundaries of the flower beds.
