For the first 16 years of her life she lived in Bombay and studied at Bombay Scottish School. She finished her high school education from The International School Bangalore and went on to complete a double major in Business and Economics from the University of Nottingham. Apart from conducting affirmation and positive thinking classes under the name of Knoq (primarily for women) Karishma started Humans of Bombay as a way to make people feel more connected to a city that is known not to stop for anyone. Humans of Bombay as a concept is inspired from Humans of New York, but overtime has grown to be an entirely different project. It started off with delivering stories that made people feel connected, but it is now looking to become a platform where people can actually make a change. Soon enough Humans of Bombay will be the medium that supports the 'Humans' in need, thanks to the large heart the city has shown to have. Karishma’s talk will include the 'Front Porch' as discussed earlier along with the NGO aspect to HOB and the need to stand to make a difference in a stranger's life
