DAIS Guiding Statements

Vision
We recognise the imperative of imparting an educational experience that is world-class in every respect and prepares children for global citizenship. We are a school with an Indian mind, an Indian heart, and an Indian soul; a school that celebrates the culture of excellence and nurtures time-tested values. We believe that a curriculum of excellence with a global dimension is central to the education of children, so it prepares them to explore the opportunities and face the challenges of an ever-evolving world, with confidence and strength of character.

Mission
To provide a learning environment that encourages children to bring out the best in themselves and enables their all-round development through the joy of learning, the appreciation and embodiment of values, and the celebration of diversity.

Motto

Dare to Dream… Learn to Excel

Values
At NMAJS and DAIS, we are driven by a powerful vision and an ambitious mission. We embrace the mantra, “dare to dream…learn to excel,” and prepare our students for an ever-evolving world with boundless possibilities. Our commitment to agile and innovative teaching ensures that our methods evolve, but our foundational principles remain steadfast. Our core values serve as the bedrock and the ultimate aim of our institution. They guide our actions, shape our culture, and reflect in everything we do.

Our values are more than just words; they are lived, modelled, and nurtured every day. At NMAJS and DAIS, we believe in:

  • Collaboration: Working together in a safe and engaging environment to learn, problem solve, and create. Differences of opinion, compromise, discussion, and imagination can lead to creative solutions. Collaboration happens during group projects in the classroom and on the football pitch. It is not just a skill or a tool for learning, but a positive attitude towards growth and change.
  • Compassion: Developing empathy for others and showing this through the way we treat one another. Compassion is evident every day, whether it’s students helping a peer who has tripped or participating in a clothing drive for flood victims. We learn that we are part of a wide community and that we are all interconnected, with the goal of making the world a better place for everyone.
  • Determination: Committing to goals with unwavering resolve and persistence. Determination means setting clear goals and pursuing them relentlessly, even when faced with obstacles. It is about maintaining focus and not giving up, knowing that perseverance leads to success.
  • Equity: Ensuring access to experiences and resources necessary for academic and social success. Everyone has the ability and the right to learn and grow. We ensure that everyone is treated fairly, considering individual needs and stepping in with support when required. Equity involves striving for fairness in policies, and student support, enabling everyone to thrive.
  • Gratitude: Being thankful and demonstrating appreciation for all that we have. Gratitude involves reflecting on what is good about ourselves and appreciating those outside of us—family, friends, teachers, and the world. A grateful person acknowledges the contributions of others and expresses thanks regularly.
  • Integrity: Doing the right thing even when no one is watching. Integrity involves trusting oneself to be true to personal and school values. It means being honest, not cheating on tests, and taking responsibility for one’s actions, ensuring that the entire school community maintains its ethical standards.
  • Resilience: Persevering in the face of challenges. We believe in hard work and recognize that challenges are a part of life. Resilience means not giving up and always trying again, whether the challenge is small, like a difficult puzzle, or large, like dealing with a natural disaster.
  • Respect: Acknowledging and holding in high regard the values and worth of the environment, others, and oneself. Respect starts with self-care and extends to others' thoughts and feelings. It includes broader respect for the school, community, nation, and world, from a blade of grass to the vast sea and beyond.
  • Responsibility: Taking ownership of our actions and choices and being accountable for the consequences. Every action has a result, and we take pride in our accomplishments and accept our mistakes. Everyone at school plays a role, and everyone takes responsibility for all that they do.
  • Trust: Building relationships based on honesty and respect. Trust is built when we believe in each other's capabilities and good intentions. It requires openness, honesty, and appreciation of others’ talents and efforts, fostering a strong and cohesive community. These values are the essence of who we are at NMAJS and DAIS, guiding our journey as we strive to excel and make a meaningful impact on our world.

  • Offering challenging, internationally recognized programmes that lead to deep learning and create future readiness.
  • Empowering children by fostering an environment where they have choice, voice, and ownership of their learning, promoting responsibility, and personal growth.
  • Providing flexible learning spaces, digital technologies, and resources to optimize teaching and learning.
  • Cultivating a collaborative learning environment where students, parents, teachers, and staff work together effectively, building a sense of community.
  • Inculcating in our children an awareness and appreciation of their history, culture and traditions, whilst being open to other cultures and alternative views of the world leading to international mindedness.
  • Creating opportunities and experiences that expand learning beyond the school walls.
