DAIS Akanksha Centre 2015-16
As we entered the school we were greeted with smiling faces of so many young children that a smile lit up on my face as well. The zest in their expression was palpable and the atmosphere was convivial. Looking at them standing with a pen and paper in their respective classrooms made me realize the efforts their parents might have gone through to let their children study and grow as individuals. The BMC School, unlike my expectations, was well kept, and the teachers were all experienced and fluent in English. Albeit these children did not come from good economic backgrounds but something made me feel that they would definitely grow up and become successful in life. We entered the classroom and interacted with the little children. Their friendly behaviour took us aback. Instead of us approaching them first, they approached us. This small boy in the second grade classroom told us that he was very excited that we were coming to teach them.
This made us even more enthusiastic to teach them. We spent time analysing the working of each classroom. We also planned activities regularly to make this an enjoyable experience.
