Building a Sense of Community

As we wrap up our initial academic unit, "How We Organise Ourselves," it's truly heartening to witness our young learners grow in their responsibility toward the community, nurturing an innate sense of belonging.

Recently Class LKG A welcomed Chef Meena Parekh, who generously shared insights about her role and responsibilities in the culinary world. An emphasis was placed on the importance of safety measures within the kitchen—a crucial lesson for everyone. Additionally, a discussion about food wastage was initiated. Chef Meena highlighted the significance of sharing any leftovers with the less fortunate members of our community, turning potential waste into acts of kindness.

In a delightful follow-up session, the students eagerly participated in a hands-on cooking activity, guided by our mentor. The result? Delicious cheesy pizzas that the learners relished during snack time. Impressively, post their culinary adventure, the students displayed responsibility by tidying up their 'pretend kitchen stations' and ensuring the classroom was reorganized to its original state.

Our learners, touched by the generosity and wisdom of Chef Meena Parekh, created and presented her with a heartfelt thank you card, expressing their deep appreciation for her contributions to the community and the knowledge she imparted.
