DIRECTOR’S REPORT
As the Sports Director of DAIS, it gives me great pleasure to present the Annual Sports Director's Report for the academic year
2022-2023. Despite the challenges posed post the pandemic, our school has achieved outstanding results in sports, highlighting our
commitment to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle among our students.
The year saw our students perform exceptionally well internationally:
World Champion Anshul Bhat won laurels for India and DAIS in Bridge. Paarth Ambani won 2 crucial last games in the quarterfinal
and semifinal to win a Silver medal in Squash at the Asian Championships. We won International medals in Chess and Golf too.
At the All India National sporting events our students excelled at: Quiz, Karting, Equestrian, Artistic Skating, Tennis, Trampoline, and Swimming.
At the Nationals organised by the International Schools Sports Association our students won laurels in Football, Judo, Taekwondo,
Karate, Gymnastics, Chess, Swimming and Badminton.
These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students and we are proud to have nurtured their Anshul Bhatt - Personality of the Year Award by International Bridge Press

Inter-House sporting events promote sportsmanship and camaraderie among our students. We successfully conducted all sporting
events including: 3 Annual Athletic Meets and Swimming Galas for the whole school after three years. CAS activities like Football:
Kick for a Cause and students vs parents vs teachers matches were held.
In addition to promoting sports and athletics, our school also strives to be a responsible member of the community. We held two
athletic meets for NGO Aseema school; an Indo Russian Judo for Peace demonstration by Russian Judokas; and a Khelo India
Maharashtra Women's Judo Competition. These events showcased our commitment to social responsibility and our efforts to make a
positive impact on the community.
Alumni Arjun Tendulkar has made the DAIS community proud by scoring a century in his maiden Ranji Trophy and making his debut
for Mumbai Indians in the IPL this season.
This year in ICSE and IGCSE Physical Education & IBDP SEHS, our students hard work brought results that were way above world average.
None of this would have been possible without the support and cooperation of our Dean and CEO Mr. Basu, Heads, Teachers, and
Support Staff. They collectively create an environment where our sportspersons are able to excel. My PE teachers and coaches are
appreciated for hard work, expertise, guidance, and mentorship. They have helped our students achieve their full sporting potential.
My PE Team and my dear Student Council were instrumental for the precise and seamless manner which our Primary and Secondary
Swimming Galas as well as 3 Athletic Meets were conducted, after a gap of 3 years. I would also like to thank the parents and families
of our students for their unwavering support and encouragement.
