Global Citizenship
At DAIS, we want our young learners to develop the knowledge, skills and values to engage with the world as global citizens which is a privilege that comes with a set of rights and responsibilities. Our aim is to promote this understanding and help our students contribute to build a fairer, safer and more secure world.
Thus at DAIS, Global Citizenship means:
- celebrating the Indian ethos of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' - 'the world is one family'.
- understanding and appreciating our own cultural identity, whilst acknowledging and respecting diversity.
- making real-world connections with an awareness of and involvement in local and global issues
- creating an inclusive environment that fosters multiple perspectives
- influencing change, acting empathetically and ethically, to make the world a peaceful place.
- recognising what is right and having the ability to stand up for it.
- developing dispositions and attitudes that promote environmental stewardship.
