 SPORTS DIRECTOR’S REPORT

Resilience is the word that sums up what our sportspersons, parents and teachers at DAIS have had to display in abundance to OTTERS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIP
overcome the challenges thrown at them in the last 2 years.
Our swimmers had to leave the city in search of a pool to train in, so that they could fulfil their dream of performing their best at the SANAYA SHETTY
 international level.
                                  KABIR KHUBCHANDANI
Our chess players adapted to compete and train on the online format.
Our horse riders, cricketers and golfers had to leave the city to train and compete in countries that allowed them to.
Our taekwondo fighters had to focus on Poomsae as they were not allowed to spar against their opponents.
Our footballers, judokas and athletes had to leave the field, mat and track, in its place, train on beaches.
Our PE classes were held in students' homes instead of the school field, basketball court and our multipurpose hall.
Our teachers and I had to strive hard to inspire our students to switch on their cameras during our PE classes.
Once hybrid school reopened, the Student Council were at their innovative best. At school, we conducted football, basketball,
throwball, tennis and volleyball tournaments, while maintaining COVID protocols. Teams were selected and competitions held
as per the bubble students belonged to. The Interclass House tournaments mixed teams of both, girls and boys.
As school life returned to near normal, we immediately conducted our March Past parade, Tug-of-war competition and Annual RIDHAAN MODI TANISHI MAZUMDER
Athletic Meet for students under 14, 17 and 19, who competed under their houses.
The scorching heat never dampened the enthusiasm of our students while they participated in physical activities during their PE
class. It is extremely heartening to once again, see our students coming in large numbers, early in the morning to participate in
the core sports activities our school offers. Parkour is an athletic training discipline in which athletes PARKOUR
