In our Science unit on Food, Health, and Hygiene, we learned about
the diverse types of food nutrients, (for eg. Carbohydrates,
proteins, vitamins, minerals etc.) and the role they play in our health
and body growth. We also learned that eating excess food can lead
to diseases, but so can, not eating enough food.
As a part of activity, we had to maintain a food diary to record our
daily diet over a period of 1 week.
As a competitive swimmer, I was already aware of what I needed to
eat to have a healthy body. I needed loads of protein, the food for
the muscles. I needed carbohydrates, which gave me long-lasting
AARJAVI MALLIK HRIDAYA SHARMA energy, throughout the day. I needed vitamins and minerals too.
However, analyzing the data collected over a week helped me to
Patterns and Sequences know the amount of each nutrient I intake. I realized that I was
following a balanced diet and was happy to continue with the
