Haïti est un petit pays francophone situé sur une île de l'océan Atlantique à l'est du Mexique.
L'année dernière en géographie, nous avons appris qu'Haïti est sujette aux tremblements de terre. Alors, je
pensais que tout l'art en Haïti ressemblerait à la destruction et au désastre. Comme la peinture haïtienne
ci-dessous, qui montre les bâtiments qui tombent et les gens qui courent pour sauver leur vie.
Je ne savais pas grand-chose sur l'art en Haïti, mais quand j'ai commencé mes recherches, il était facile de
trouver de nouvelles informations, surtout avec l'aide de google. La plupart de l'art en Haïti concerne la culture
de ce pays. Cette culture est un mélange de cultures française et africaine. De nombreuses œuvres d'art
montrent l'histoire d'Haïti aussi. Par exemple, cette photo montre une sculpture très célèbre en Haïti appelée
“Le Marron Inconnu”. Il s'agit d'une sculpture en bronze réalisée par Albert Mangoès. Elle représente un
esclave qui s'est échappé et l'esclavage est une grande partie de la culture haïtienne.
Pour la population générale d'Haïti, l'art est un moyen d'expression et quelques gens utilisent l'art pour guérir
des dommages causés par les catastrophes. Il célèbre leurs modes de vie et la vie rurale, et des gens simples
utilisent souvent des matériaux naturels et des déchets pour créer l'art populaire.
Haïti fait face à de nombreuses tragédies comme des tremblements de terre constants. Après ces tragédies, il est important que le
peuple se relève. L'art aide les gens à retourner à leur vie normale et cela peut les aider à exprimer leur tristesse et leur chagrin.
Les Haïtiens sont très résilients. Ils regardent le monde comme une série de défis. Ils croient à la phrase créole « Deye mon, gen mon » qui se traduit
« derrière les montagnes, plus de montagnes ». C'est une façon de dire, il y a toujours des défis et on ne peut pas céder.
Une forme d'art unique en Haïti est la fabrication de drapeaux. Les drapeaux font partie intégrale de la culture haïtienne est ils sont
utilisés pour se souvenir ou commémorer des esprits, des divinités ou des événements spécifiques.
Kick for a Cause
Maintenant je sais qu'Haïti a une culture très riche et des gens forts et je le visiterai certainement malgré la peur des tremblements de terre !
Kick for a Cause aims to promote sports amongst children from different Annsh Navlé
backgrounds and bring them together to play football. Through the project our
group of 13 students hoped to tackle the global issue of lack of opportunity in Coding Challenge
sports. The project aims at promoting an active lifestyle and the inherent
connection between good physical and mental health. The organisation began The DAIS Coding Challenge was started by a group
in 2015 and holds an annual five-a-side football tournament where students of computer science enthusiasts and is a student-led
