Water - The Elixir of Life
Every year DAIS Round Square commemorates World Food Day on 16th October, to honour the establishment of the food and agriculture organisation.
This year, the Primary students of Classes 4 and 5 participated in the World Food Day Poster Contest on the theme, ‘Water is life, Water is food, Leave no one behind.’
The students used their creative ideas and thoughts to portray global challenges, such as the growing population and global warming, that threaten our water supply, making water a valued commodity. The absence of clean drinking water places an additional risk of infection and disease when water, sanitation and hygiene services are lacking.
Our young learners demonstrated their interest and enthusiasm by taking action for water and food wastage, through their participation in the Poster-making Contest. The contest was open to schools the world over.
One of our young artists Aanya Sanghavi of Class 5 A was declared a winner in this contest. She received a specially designed apron, a cap and a letter of appreciation from the organizers.
Way to go, Aanya!
