for teachers and staff, and for organizing exchange visits of students and teachers
visiting our school from across India and around the world.
k) Trips
School trips are important extensions of experiential learning opportunities
outside classrooms, and are central to holistic education and development. From
LKG, students have opportunities to go on local trips related to the curriculum. As
they move through the Classes, the trips increase in range and extent, including
those relating to academics, service activities, exchanges, adventure and
international events.
Students are encouraged to attend the trips which are voluntary and under close
supervision of teachers, with safety of the children given paramount importance.
The same regulations and expectations as are applicable on regular school days,
apply during school trips. Children are ambassadors of our school hence they
should be courteous and well-behaved at all times.
When students go out on trips, they need to be a part of the group at all times,
during the stay, as well as their journeys to and fro. Accordingly, a student will not
be permitted to leave the group or meet with anyone when they are out on a trip,
unless prior permission is given by the concerned Section Head.
Students opting for subjects such as Geography, EVS, PE etc., should note that
course work and field trips are an integral part of the subject for grading purposes
and students are required to attend them.
If a student commits a breach of school rules while on a school trip, she/he
will be sent back to Mumbai. Parents will then be notified of the time and
place from where to collect their child.
l) Celebrations
i) Birthdays
The school recognises that birthdays are special occasions for students and
parents, and requests that birthday celebrations at school are kept simple. Parents
are requested not to send any fancy invitation cards, cake or take-home presents
for students or teachers. Chocolates, candies, lollipops or toffees may be
distributed. On their birthday, students may wear clothes of their choice that
conform to norms of modesty.
The school suggests that every child in the class is invited if a parent wishes to
distribute invitation cards in the class, for a birthday party to be celebrated at home.
Parents are requested not to send any gifts for any member of the school staff.
