c) Round Square at DAIS
The school's overarching aim is to help every child grow to their full potential and
develop holistically, which distinctly aligns with Round Square's six pillars -
International Understanding, Democracy, Environmental stewardship, Adventure,
Leadership, and Service (IDEALS). These Round Square IDEALS are incorporated into
our curriculum in multi-dimensional ways. The school continues to build on these
precepts and refine them on a continuous basis so that every child is encouraged and
supported to develop a wholesome personality. Round Square continues to be an
integral part of student life at DAIS. Round Square Student Committee (RSSC) works
with the Student Council, identifies needs, plans actions for Round Square events
within and outside school. They lead, mentor and guide new juniors, and together
decide events, organise, plan and execute, host and participate in conferences, virtual
postcards, collaborative projects (Earth day, Language exchanges, pen pals etc)
imbibing the Round Square Philosophy across grade levels.
d) Model United Nations
IB Diploma students take the lead in planning, organising and executing and
conducting the Dhirubhai Ambani International school Model United Nations
(DAIMUN). Model United Nations cocurricular activity at DAIS nurtures student
interest in global socio-economic and political affairs, develops skills to identify
issues and diplomatically articulate realistic solutions for a peaceful world.
Students are encouraged to think of amicable solutions to a vast range of issues
but not limited to human rights protection, infringement to sovereignty, climate
change, sustainable development goals, peaceful use of atomic energy and
promoting good health worldwide. In the weekly MUN club, students prepare
country specific resolutions for committee agendas which are debated simulating
United Nations procedures. The club provides a platform for students who are
passionate about the United Nations and world affairs to become critical thinkers,
exhibit analytical approaches to the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Our
student delegations from Classes VIII – XII participate in several MUN conferences
including three international conferences.
e) Coding and Robotics
ICT curriculum at DAIS provides opportunities to the students to master
the fundamentals in four domains – Digital Citizenship, Microsoft Office Suite,
Coding, and Adobe Creative Cloud. These domains empower the students with
effective communication, collaboration, creativity, design, presentation, and
problem-solving skills. At DAIS every student from KG to Grade 8 learns at
