DAIS students emphasize that sustainable consumption and production
is not 'about doing more' but about 'doing better with less.' They know
that growth is sought by increasing resource efficiency and promoting
sustainable lifestyles. Our school strives towards energy efficiency and
works towards disaster risk reduction. Children at DAIS are taught that
cities are key systems for global economic growth but also drivers of
environmental degradation, affecting the balance between humans and
natural systems. The urban sprawl has made cities vulnerable not only to
climate change induced flooding, droughts, and heatwaves but also to
problems like inadequate transportation infrastructure and air pollution.
Our students believe that strongly focusing on efficient infrastructure and
nature-based solutions for urban planning will make cities sustainable.

AND CONSUMERS! LET'S PLEDGE TO MAKE
URBAN TRANSFORMATION TO BE RESILIENT
AND NATURE POSITIVE!
